Malou is 8 years old and loves her rabbit, La Paix. He is an older gentleman the same age as her. He is her trusted partner in rabbit jumping - a competitive sport where rabbits jump over obstacles. Rabbit jumping is a big part of Malou's life: her older sister is the Danish champion, and their mother is a referee. Malou's best friend, Merina, is also a passionate rabbit jumper. She has the agile rabbit Isaya. Together, the girls dream of the big rabbit jumping competition at Roskilde Dyrskue, where they will face the best jumpers in the country and compete to win ribbons and glory. In Leaping Hearts, we follow Malou in the time leading up to the competition together with Merina and their rabbits. They practice, make beautiful rabbit jumping harnesses, and Malou meets Merina's cute baby rabbits, which inspire a new dream. Because La Paix is old. Malou begins to doubt how long he can continue to jump with her. Is it time to get a new rabbit? And can La Paix handle the fierce competition at the fair? Leaping Hearts is a warm, funny, and moving story about friendship, loyalty, and love for a pet. It's about enjoying what you love most, about dreams, and about listening to your pet's needs - even when there's a lot at stake.
